Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated 26 September 2026Version 2026-09-26

There is one thing you can buy on Founders’ Union: Spark, the credit used to publish listings, join other campus communities, and unlock a member’s contact details. This page explains what happens to that money.

1. Spark is non-refundable

Once a purchase is complete and the Spark is in your account, the payment is final and is not refundable. This applies whether or not you go on to spend the Spark.

Spark is a digital credit delivered to your account immediately on payment. There is nothing to return and nothing to withdraw, which is why the sale is final — and why this is said here, and on the purchase page, before you pay rather than after.

What you keep instead is the credit itself. Spark does not expire. If you buy it today and use it next term, it is still there.

2. There is nothing to cancel

Spark is bought once. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal and no stored mandate, so nothing continues charging you and there is nothing to switch off. If you never buy again, you are never charged again.

3. Payment errors are not refunds, and are always put right

Section 1 is about Spark you were correctly charged for and correctly received. It does not cover a payment that went wrong. Where money left your account and the corresponding Spark did not reach you, we return it in full, with no time limit. That is:

  • money was taken and no Spark was credited to your account;
  • you were charged twice for the same purchase;
  • you were charged an amount other than the price shown to you at checkout.

A payment that succeeds but is not credited within a few minutes is almost always a delayed confirmation rather than a lost payment, and it usually resolves itself. If it has not after an hour, tell us and we will either credit the Spark or return the money — your choice.

4. Accounts that are removed

Where an account is removed for breaking the Terms of Use — harassment, impersonation, fraud or spam — any Spark on it is forfeited and is not refunded.

5. What buying Spark does not buy

Spark buys the ability to publish listings and to reach people. It does not buy replies, a co-founder, a team, or any particular outcome, and we do not promise any of those anywhere on this site. A listing that got no response is not grounds for a refund, and nothing on the platform suggests otherwise.

6. Reporting a payment problem

Email rohit@foundersunion.in from the address on your account, with:

  • the Razorpay Payment ID from your receipt (it starts with pay_);
  • the date and amount of the payment;
  • what went wrong.

We will acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve it within 5 working days.

Where money is returned it goes through Razorpay to the original payment method — the same card, UPI ID or bank account it came from. We cannot send it anywhere else, which protects you as much as it limits us. Once issued, it typically reaches you in 5 to 7 working days; that last stretch is your bank rather than us, and we can give you the Razorpay reference to chase it with.

7. If you are not satisfied

Reply and say so — a person reads every one of these. If it is still unresolved, the grievance route in section 9 of the Terms of Use applies, and nothing on this page affects the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
